This is a ‘Transformational Year’ for America’s Healthcare System


The Camden Group, a consulting group and think tank for the healthcare industry, says 2013 will be “a  transformational year as healthcare organizations transition into a new era in healthcare.” Making it so is the looming deadline for instituting the major reforms in the Affordable Care Act. Less than one year off, the act will cause “the biggest overhaul of U.S. healthcare since the enactment of Medicare and Medicaid more than 50 years ago,” says the Camden Group’s President, Steven T. Valentine. It’s annual 10 trends list for 2013 includes changes to health plans nationwide, increased marketing of services by inpatient facilities, increased merger and consolidation activity, and economic incentives to physicians and other providers for improving the quality of care and the health of their patients.
