Health care continues to be one of the hottest areas for hiring in the U.S. and one of the toughest to recruit in-demand talent. CareerBuilder’s annual survey finds 22%  of health care hiring managers plan to add full-time, permanent health care employees this year, up three percentage points over 2012. Yet, 23% of healthcare employers report having open positions, but can’t find the talent they need to fill the jobs. Partly in response, 36% plan to hire temporary and contract workers, an increase from last year’s 34%. Nearly 4-in-10 of health care employers say they’ll transition some temporary workers into full-time, permanent employees over the next 12 months. So keen is the competition for skilled health care workers that 20% of workers surveyed by CareerBuilder report being contacted by another employer seeking to recruit them. Employers are also planning to increase compensation and offer training and other incentives to attract and retain their best workers. CareerBuilder says 76% of employers plan to boost pay, up from 65% last year; 53% will offer higher starting salaries for new health care employees – up from 34% last year. Most increases will be 3 percent or less. CareerBuilder
