In 20111, it beat two Jeopardy champions to win a million dollars. Now, Watson, IBM”s supercomputer that speaks plain English, will attempt to beat brain cancer. Partnering with the New York Genome Center, IBM will use Watson to help doctors pick drugs targeted to the specific genetic makeup of patients and their tumors. Watson’s job will be to sift through the world’s accumulated knowledge of cancer proteins to determine what they do, reducing by days, even weeks in some cases, the time it takes oncologists to develop the right drug mix for each patient.
